Located on Sri Lanka’s west coast, just outside Anuradhapura, Wilpattu was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1938, renowned for its natural freshwater lakes that attract a rich diversity of wildlife. Closed during the country’s 30-year civil war, the park reopened in 2010 and has since become a rising star for wildlife safaris and camping in South East Asia.
