Mirissa Fisheries Harbor – Your Whale Watching Gateway

Your adventure begins at 6:30 a.m. from the Mirissa Fisheries Harbor, where you’ll board a modern, fully-equipped vessel designed for both comfort and safety. With GPS, UHF radios, life jackets, and a trained crew certified in life-saving and first aid, you’re in expert hands.

Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast on board, relax in comfortable seating, and even access clean Western-style toilets with shower facilities. The 4–5 hour cruise offers a 90–95% chance of spotting whales—so keep your eyes on the horizon!

After the tour, you can opt to extend your day with visits to Galle Fort, a Turtle Hatchery, or enjoy exciting water sports nearby.

Q: When is the best time to go?

Whale watching is possible year-round except in May and June due to rough monsoon seas. July to October: Trips depend on weather conditions. November to April: Ideal season with the highest chance of calm seas and successful sightings. If you're departing from Colombo, plan to leave by 4:00 a.m. to reach Mirissa by sunrise. If you're staying in Galle or along the southern coast, a 5:30–6:00 a.m. departure is perfect.

Q: What do the transfers include?
